Bagnoli: We shouldn't have been nervous

Daniele Bagnoli tries to calm his team down

Russian coach Daniele Bagnoli: "I am happy with the victory. But I am not quite satisfied with how we reacted to the difficulties we had at the beginning of the match. We shouldn’t have been nervous. I have to congratulate Egypt with the progress they made recently."

Russian captain Alexey Kazakov: "We were probably too self-confident before the match. Egypt punished us for it as they proved they know how to play a high-quality Volleyball. Fortunately by the middle of the game we found our rhythm and everything went on smoothly from then."

Egypt coach Antonio Giacobbe: "Speaking about the game I would like to see if we managed to do our best as we met with very classy team. And we played good almost for three straight sets also because they let us do it. We should take advantage of matches with such a strong opponent for making progress to prepare better for the 2010 FIVB World Championship in Italy."

Egypt captain Youssef Saleh: "It was very tough game for us as the Russians played well. I think we also played quite good but we made too many mistakes especially in the last set."
