Things could have been different if we won the second set - Birarelli

.

Cuba's top scorer with 14 points Wilfredo León: The match went as much as we expected. It is very positive for tomorrow’s match to have won 3-0. I am very happy of being the best scorer of the match.

Cuba coach Orlando Samuels: We started the first set with a lot of concentration but I do not know what would have happened in the case of losing the second set. We are still troubled by basic non-forced errors and we know we have to change.

Italian captain Valerio Vermiglio: It was a very hard match. They played very well showing great skills in so many aspects. We went onto the field without our heart and therefore the chance of playing well was not inside us. Congratulations for Cuba and good luck in the semifinal match.

Italian coach Andrea Anastasi: It was a very hard match and the way it developed did not help us to play well. Always the team that plays better wins. In the World League there is not much time to work. During these last two weeks we trained hard but I would have preferred not to train because it resulted in a disaster.

Mixed Zone:

Italian setter Emanuele Birarelli: We are not happy, we came up against a very powerful team and that was hard on us.  We could not clinch the all important second set to make it 1-1 so that things could have been different.
