Germany clinch third World League victory

Kromm beats a triple block from Argentina in Germany's win on Saturday morning

Catamarca, Argentina, June 19, 2010 – Germany picked up their first victory away from home in the 2010 FIVB World League beating Argentina 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-22) in Catamarca on Saturday morning.

Grozer Georg topped the scores for the visitors with 20 points while Pereyra and Garcia were the best players for the locals, scoring eight points each.

German’s height advantage proved to be a too good for the Argentine team that could do little against the high blocking and powerful spikes that saw the visitors take the first set.

The second set saw both sides battle early, however the 6,000 local fans were disappointed with the visitors picking up the set.

The hosts found their momentum and led 8-4 in the third before the visitors pounced back to take the match.

The two sides face off again on Saturday at 9:10pm local time with Argentina hoping to find their first victory in this season’s competition.
