Incheon, Korea, June 12, 2010 - Bulgaria picked up their first 2010 FIVB World League victory on Saturday morning as they beat Korea 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) away in Incheonin their third Pool A match.
Coming off the back of a disappointing defeat to Brazil last weekend in Uberlandia, the Bulgarians were eager to get their first win ahead of the match against Korea.
They started the game strongly, helped by their height and power advantage over the home side, who were coming off two defeats to the Netherlands in Seoul last weekend.
The second set saw Bulgaria pull away again before the side finished their hosts off with a 25-20 set victory, winning the game and three points to take third in Pool A.
Bulgaria star Matey Kaziyski topped the scores with 17 points as Kim Hak Min scored 10 for the hosts.
"I am glad with the victory," Bulgaria coach Prandi Silvano said. "The first victory is always good. However, today our play was not good enough despite preparing for the match 15 days ago."
The two sides clash again on Sunday at 5am GMT in Incheon, Korea.
