Germany ends opening World League weekend unbeaten

Robert Kromm spikes as he helped Germany to victory on Sunday

Stuttgart, Germany, June 6, 2010 – Germany finished their opening FIVB World League weekend with a 3-0 (28-26, 30-28, 25-18) victory over Poland at home in Stuttgart on Sunday.

Raúl Lozano’s team finish the weekend unbeaten as Sebastian Schwarz scored 15 points for his team and Jakub Jarosz topped Poland’s scores with 14. Germany now tops Pool D and will face Cuba next weekend in Havana. Poland meanwhile face Argentina.

Both teams started well before Germany pulled ahead to win the first set.

Georg Grozer fought back for the home side in the second set and saw out the third to pick up the victory.
