Cuba one point away from Final Round as they visit Argentina

Argentina will have to put on a sublime performance if they want to stop Cuba who are currently dominating Pool D of the FIVB World League
Formosa, Argentina, July 5, 2010 – Formosa, Argentina is preparing itself for the sixth and closing weekend of the Intercontinental Round of the 2010 FIVB World League as the home side take on Pool D leaders Cuba ahead of their Final Round appearance in Cordoba fom July 21-25.

The city has already hosted a World League match in 2009 as Argentina took on eventual runners-up Serbia, winning one game a piece.

Argentina are without a victory so far in this year's championship however as hosts of the Final Round in Cordoba they will already progress to the next stage of the competition.

Cuba, on the other end, need just one point to for a place at the premier annual men's tournament.  With an outstanding performance in Pool D, they were defeated only once by Poland and can reconfirm their leadership in Formosa.

The last time both teams met was in Havana on the first weekend of this year’s edition as the home side picked up a 3-1 and 3-2 win. Argentina also went down to Cuba at the 2009 Final Round in Belgrade, Serbia and in the previous friendly series, the same year, in Mar del Plata.

The first match kicks off at 12.10am GMT on Friday.
