USA visit Egypt for first time

Egyptian fans will be hoping to have something to cheer about when they host USA this weekend
Cairo, Egypt, June 30 ,2010 - Egypt are set to host the USA for the first time in the fifth weekend of 2010 FIVB World League in Cairo as the vistors continue to challenge Russia in Pool C.

It is the first time a U.S. men’s team visits not only Egypt, but also the African continent so it will be an exciting match for the Egyptian fans.

After seven losses, Egypt are in the fourth place in the group C with a 1-7 record and three points while the Americans are in second with a 5-3 record and 16 points.

USA hosted the Egyptian team in the third weekend and despite two 3-1 wins it wasn’t an easy victory.

After a performance against Russia that disappointed both the Egyptian supporters and the coaches the players will look to satisfy their crowd as well as keep the pressure on Finland in their aim to finish third in the pool.

Intonio Gaicobbe, Egyptian coach said he wasn't satisfied with the defeat against Russia and he wants his players to improve their performance in the next two matches. "We will work on reception and serve" Intonio Gaicobbe said.

US middle blocker David Lee leads all World League players in blocking with a set average of 1.06.

Egyptian opposite Ahmed Saleh is the fourth best scorer and his teammate Abdalla is the third best server.
