Like their football counterparts who also play Argentina at the weekend, Germany will be looking for victory to help solidify their place in the FIVB World League next year, although a Final Round place could still fall to them if the results go the right way.
The two matches will be the last home games for Germany and with a 3-0 and 3-1 win over Argentina away from home the side will be confident.
“As long as we still have a chance we will try," captain Björn Andrae said. "Cuba has to play in Poland and we have to win against Argentina; then everything is still possible. In any case we want to finalize the Intercontinental Round with as many victories as possible.”
The two sides will clash at 7.30pm local time on Wednesday and Thursday.
