Hoffman Estates, Ill. (June 25, 2010) – Still reeling slightly from his team’s 3-2 (25-22, 14-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-11) loss to Finland on Friday, U.S. Head Coach Alan Knipe began to plan how his team might improve on Saturday when the two opponents play their fourth and final 2010 FIVB World League Intercontinental Round match at the Sears Centre Arena.
“We have to watch video and clean up our communication issues,” Knipe said. “We have to play with better urgency.”
Knipe would not speculate on any changes he might make to the U.S. roster.
Finland coach Mauro Berruto was elated with his team’s victory, but still saw room for improvement.
“We need to improve the way we are using the center of the net on our side,” Berruto said. “That is a key point for our sideout."
“I would like to see us keep the same ability to stay calm. After we lost the second set (on Friday), we were ready to restart for the third set."
