Russian and Egypt hope to put up another battle

The fans of Kaliningrad saw the underdog challenge the favorite

Despite the different status and different goals in the 2010 World League Russia and Egypt is looking for another tough game in their second match of the week-end on Saturday in Kaliningrad.

The Russians, currently leading Pool C with nine points, and the Egyptians who sit in the last place with two points, managed to put up a good show on Friday. Egypt who already made a surprise by winning in Finland in the opening game, proved to be a dangerous team for the favorite. They didn’t make it easy for the Russians to win 3-1 on Friday.

“It’s normal that at the beginning of the season there can be some sensations as all the teams had short period of preparation, -- said Russian head coach Daniele Bagnoli. – So the teams like Egypt who have nothing to loose have more chances against favorites. This is good for us as we need some tough games to know better our weak points we have to work on.”

Egyptian head coach Antonio Giacobbe wants his players to fight if not win. He is pretty aware about the difference of the levels of the teams so he is looking for his team to do their best against Russia.

“We should use these games to prepare for the 2010 FIVB World championship in Italy which is the most important tournament for us,” -- he said.
