Italy looking for home win over China

Italy's triple block will be important as they attempt to overcome China in its FIVB World League match this weekend
Chieti, Italy, June 9, 2010 - Following its two Pool B victories over France on the opening weekend of the 2010 FIVB World League, Italy now face China at home in Chieti and Ancona to keep its hopes of a Final Round berth alive in this year’s edition of the tournament.

Italian coach Andrea Anastasi, will benefit from the return of key players Simone Parodi and Lugi Mastrangelo, who both picked up the Italian championship with Cuneo.

China however will be aiming to make up for its back-to-back losses against Serbia last week and will want to leave Europe with a pair of victories by the end of the weekend. The Asian side will also be seeking revenge after losing three of its four matches against Italy in last year’s World League, two of which were at home.

“We have attained two important successes in this World League,” Italian coach Andrea Anastasi said of last weeks triumph over France. “We maintained concentration throughout both games.”
