Scott Touzinsky was born on April 22, 1982 in St. Louis, Mo., where he also grew up. He was added to the U.S. National Team in May of 2007.
Since joining, Scott has won two NORCECA World Championship Qualifier Gold Medals (2007, 2010), a NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualifying Championship Gold Medal (2008), a Four Nations Tournament Gold Medal (2008) and a FIVB World League Gold Medal (2008). He was also a member of the Olympic gold medal team in 2008. The outside hitter (193 cm, 86 kg) finished the 2009 season as the team’s seventh leading scorer with 62 points on 55 kills, four blocks and three aces.
During both the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 winters, Touzinsky played with Turkey’s Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediye.
Touzinsky played his collegiate years at Long Beach State where he finished his career as both the career and single-season ace leader for the university and received First-team All-American honors in 2004. He became just the third player in NCAA Division I-III to score 40 or more kills in an all rally-scoring match. He is married.
