Setter Kevin Hansen was born March 19, 1982 in Newport Beach, Calif. He joined the U.S. National Team in 2005 and became one of the starting setters in 2006 along with Donald Suxho. After Lloy Ball re-joined the U.S. in 2007, Hansen served as his backup as the team won the 2008 FIVB World League and Olympic Games.
In 2009, Hansen (196cm, 93kg) was credited with 114 running sets (assists) in 47 sets played for an average of 2.42 per set... Kevin finished the season with a 0.444 hitting percentage and was credited with 15 blocks (0.32 blocks per set) and 51 digs (1.08 digs per set).
Hansen played college volleyball at Stanford University in 2002-05. He married Sarah Engle in 2009. He has played in the Russian Super League the past two winters.
