Outside hitter Paul Lotman was born Nov. 3, 1985, in Lakewood, Calif., where he also grew up. He joined the U.S. Men’s National Team in 2009 to play in the Pan American Cup, which won the gold medal. He made his debut with the “A team” at the 2009 FIVB World League, where the U.S. placed sixth.
Lotman (201cm, 100kg) went on to help the U.S. team win its FIVB World Championship qualifying tournament and take silver at the NORCECA Continental Championship. Lotman played for Stade Poitevin in France during the winter of 2009-10.
Lotman, who is single, played college volleyball for Long Beach State University and was named NCAA Division I-II Co-Player of the Year in 2008 along with U.S. teammate Matt Anderson.
