23-year old Jesse Mäntylä is the second libero of the Finnish team. Before the World League 2009 he had never played before in the Finnish national team. Now he has 12 international matches behind him.

Mäntylä is only 176 cm tall and playing as a libero is for him the way to the international matches. He played the last season in Salon Piivolley in the Finnish Championships League. He has one bronze medal from the League and two silver medals from the Finnish Cup.

His father took him to the Volleyball hall when he was only four years old and first time he played in the youth national team when he was 15. J

esse Mäntylä is married to Hillaelina Hämäläinen who plays in the Finnish women's national team.
