Middle blocker Jukka Lehtonen is the new captain of the Finnish national team after Tuomas Sammelvuo ended his long career in the team. Lehtonen has played 42 matches in the national team so far.
He is 197 cm tall and 28 years old. Lehtonen won gold in the Finnish Championship in 2007 and 2008 in his club Santasport. He is also a Finnish Cup champion from 2005 and All star player 2006-2008.
He played the season 2001-2002 in German 2. Bundesliiga, but returned to Finland for the next six seasons. For the season 2008-2009 he moved to Aris Thessaloniki in the Greek League and last season he played in Ravenna, Italy.
