Wael Alaydy is considered as one of the most experienced Egyptian players as he is the best Libero player in the country since this position was established. The 39-year old player played with the national team in all the competitions of the last six years and was selected as the best libero in more than 20 competitions both at international and club level. He played the FIVB World Championship in Argentina in 2002 and was one of the best players of teh Egyptian side. He won eight league and nine cup titles with his club of Al-Ahly as well as seven African Club competitions.
With the men's national team he participated in several international competitions: Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. FIVB World League in 2008,2007 and 2006. Qualification to WCH Japan in 2006. Qualification to WGCC Japan 2005, ranking fifth. Mediterranean Games in Spain in 2005, winning a gold medal. United Islamic Championship in Saudi Arabia in 2005, finishing second. All Arab Games in Algeria in 2004, obtaining the title.
