In 1994, Marlon won the South American Championship with the Brazilian Youth team. Three years later, he got the second place at the FIVB Junior World Championship and won the Clubs South American Championship with Olympikus (RJ). Three times he got the second place of the Brazilian Superliga (99/00, 04/05 and 05/06). In 2008, he was called for the first time to the Senior national team and played in the FIVB World League, where Brazil finished fourth. Marlon remained in the team for the 2009 season and won the FIVB World League, the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship. He plays for Brasil Vôlei Clube.
