Thiago was one of the best players in the youth and junior Brazilian teams. In 2002, he was Youth South American Championship champion. In 2003, he was champion in the Youth World Championship. The next year, he won the Junior South America Championship and, in 2005, got the second place at the Junior World Championship. In the 2004 Liga Nacional, he won the title, playing with On Line (RS). Last season, he played for Unisul/Nexxera (SC). In 2007, he participated in the team that won the FIVB World League 2007, and he got a second place at the America’s Cup, repeating this performance the year after. In 07/08 and 08/09 seasons he won the Brazilian Superliga for Cimed (SC). Last season, he also won the FIVB World League, the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship.
