Rodrigo Quiroga (ARG Captain): I think we had our chances in this match. We played well in some parts of the match, but then we didn't manage to stay focused. In the third set we were up four points, but Cuba served well, we received badly and we lost this set. Cuba is an excellent team, and they deserved to win.
Roberlandy Simon (CUB Captain): It was a good match, both teams were trying to do their best to win the match, the only difference is that we took advantage of our chances. We had a lot of ups and downs in the match, and we will work to improve. I think we were nervous at the start, but that's normal. This is a giant step towards the semifinals. We play against Brazil tomorrow and we have to do our best to perform well.
Javier Weber (ARG head coach): Congratulations to Cuba. This was a very intense match with lots of errors from both sides. We were tight at the beginning but we managed to get over the stress later on. From that point it was an equal match, but we are lacking experience and that was the main reason we lost the match. It was obvious in the third and fourth set when we made a lot of mistakes in the decisive moments. We have to work to correct that.
Orlando Samuels Blackwood (CUB head coach): Thanks to Mr. Weber for the compliments. The first match is always the hardest one. Both teams are very young and qualifying to this round is already a big success. We played very well in the preliminary round, but now we are lacking experience, it is obvious. I think we should work to improve our focus in the match. By the middle of the set, especially after the 16th point, we started missing points. This was anyone's game, but we were fortunate enough to win it in the end.
