Qiong Shen: It was Better than Yesterday

Team China celebrates a great play

China Captain Qiong Shen:  "Both teams improved from last night. Both teams had good performances. It was better than yesterday."

U.S. Captain David Lee: "Overall, I’m happy with the weekend. The victory put us at the top of the pool. I give credit to China. They played much better than last night. I also give credit to our stellar blocking defense. San Jose was a great first (home) venue."

China Coach Zhou Jianan: "We know Team USA is the best team in Pool A. So for the Chinese team, we just wanted a good chance to play the USA and accumulate experience. Through these matches we achieved that goal. I’m looking forward to playing in the United States again."

U.S. Coach Alan Knipe: "I want to congratulate China on a much better night. I thought we were  more evenly matched tonight. China got us in some passing trouble. That’s how it got back into the second set. I credit our passers for weathering the storm.

I’d like to thank the local organizing committee in San Jose. This was our first chance to play on U.S. soil since Beijing and I know our players and staff appreciated the fan support."
