José A Gutiérrez: Polish serves made the difference

Press conference
Poland captain Michal Bakiewicz: "We are very happy with this result. Our main victory was on Friday. That triumph made us feel confident for Sunday's match. Our team is very young, which bodes well for our future. The public was very cheerful, and even included a little support for Poland."

Venezuelan captain Andy Rojas: "We want to congratulate Poland for this victory. Their strength was mainly in the power serve, which made disrupted our passing, making set higher balls. We did not play at our level today but the Polish team deserved to win."

Poland coach Daniel Castellani: "The comments made by the Venezuelan captain are correct: Venezuela was not the same team as in the former match. Our serves gave them difficulties in passing and forced them to make simple settings, which in turn made it predictable to block effectively. Poland played much better than on Friday. Our players committed fewer mistakes."

Venezuela coach José A Gutiérrez:
"I agree with the comments made by Castellani. The Polish team is very powerful, with very strong blocking systems. The Polish serves made the difference. Our passing was very bad and compromised the setting, which urged the spikers to make the most of what they could against already strong blocking. This was a frequent issue that could not be overcome."
