Usa became predictable in attack with Italy having the right attitude to control and rebuild. Italy close 25-18. In the third set, both team walked on a conservative path with Us more solid and Italy a little bit tired. With Us ahead 23-21, Italy produced a very positive series to re-open the match. Gavotto was simply outstanding in his attacks but last fatal mistakes gave again the lead to Us that close the third set 25-22. A block by Francesco Fortunato opened the fourth set. On the other side Rooney built with blocks the prologue for the advantage Us gained clinching 8-7 the first TTO.
