China Strive for the victory in their last match of FIVB World League 2009

Yu Dawei was trying to spike for score

Jiangning, China, July 17th, 2009 – After their lose to Italy today, China is facing their last match in FIVB World League 2009 tomorrow against Italy at 18:55 local time in the gym of Jiangning Sports Center.

As Zhou said during the press conference, China played inconsistently in their first match, their poor performance in reception and attack led to the final dismal. Italy, prominent at both blocking and serving, not only helped them to win the vital match but also safeguarded its possibility in qualifying for the final round in Belgrade, Serbia.

Now China’s record against Italy is 1-2 and the team is striving for the victory in tomorrow’s last match of the world league this year. With Cui Jianjun scored the most points today on court, Chen Ping didn’t show his level in any moment of the match. The poor organization of the blocking system also destroyed their confidence for the victory.

“I think our young players need such tough match to improve themselves”, said Zhou Jianan, head coach of China. With a fighting spirit, China is confident to show their different side tomorrow and initiate their adventure heading for Asian Volleyball Championship later September.
