Ambitious Korea eyes place in Final Round of World League

South Korean is eager to taste victory in World League competition

A young South Korean team will play against some powerful opponents in Pool B of the World League, but it won't give any of them an easy game.

Serbia (ranked 5th), Argentina (ranked 12th) and France (ranked 17th) will all be made to work hard against Team Korea, who is coached by Kim Ho-chul, manager of the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers club.

Kim steered Team Korea to victory at the 2006 Doha Asian Games, beginning what is known as the 'Golden years of Volleyball' in South Korea.

The coach has experienced many triumphs both as a player and a director in Italy, and is well versed in international Volleyball and the vision of Korean Volleyball.

Argentina has already been singled out by South Korea as its most challenging opponent in the preliminary round, as the team coach by Javier Weber is skilled, vastly experienced and enthusiastic, in addition to possessing solid tactics and high level of solidarity for one another.

The first match of the 2009 FIVB World League's preliminary round will be held in Korea. The Korean team is eager to post a victory and lay the foundation for an appearance in the final round.
