A yellow wave of support for Serbia

The Brazilian fans in Maracanazinho cheered on Serbia

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 23, 2008 - A victory against the USA and the kindness of the Brazilians fans. That was what the Serbians claimed today in their first match in the FIVB World League Final Round 2008 at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro.

Supporting the Serbians from the beginning, the Brazilian fans shouted themselves hoarse. And with the fans in their favor, the Serbians played a wonderful game.

At the end of game, rewarding the support, all the Serbian players stopped for photos and signed a lot of autographs.

For the Brazilian fans, besides the great Volleyball showed on the court, the attention given to them was the main reason they chose the European team to cheer on.

"Besides great players, Serbian are very attentive with us. That is why we were cheering for them. And they are very beautiful, too," said student Juliana Fonseca.

For the players, the support of the Brazilian fans was wonderful and helped the team against USA.

"The Brazilian fans always welcome us warmly. It was great to listen to them cheering us against USA. I have to thank a lot the Brazilian and I hope they keep supporting us against Poland," said Janic.

The captain of Serbia thanked the support, too, but confessed that he did not expect it.

"It was very cool the support of the Brazilians, but I did not expect it. I do not know if it will happen in all games of the Finals, but I hope so," said Grbic.

The Serbian Head Coach at the end of press conference also thanked the Brazilian fans.

"I have to thank a lot the Brazilian fans. It was great their support," said Igor Kolakovic.
