Brazil celebrate sixth World League title

Philippe Blain's team took a well-deserved silver medal
France's captain Stephane Antiga: "I'm very disappointed. It's difficult to lose after being 2-0 up. At the start of this summer we never thought we would achieve this result. I wouldn't even have bet 10 Euros on this outcome."

France's head coach Philippe Blain: "I was disappointed because we did our best in seven matches in nine days with four tie-breaks. But the team was tired and had no energy left. Nevertheless, I'm very proud of them. We had good tactics and great spririt and it was a good preparation for the World Championships."

Brazil's captain Ricardo Garcia: "France played a great match with few mistakes and a great defence. The key to our success was playing from the heart, the will of the team and the team itself."

Brazil's head coach Bernardo Rezende: "The world of Volleyball is proud of France. They deserved to be here, they had a tough pool in qualifying but nevertheless topped their group. We have a lot to improve and learn for the World Championships and France taught us a lot."
