Pool’s B & C open round two
Lausanne,
Switzerland, June 3, 2005 – All four teams in
Pools B and C are in action as round two of the
2005 World League Intercontinental Round gets
underway on Friday.
Two matches have the honour of starting the
round with France hosting Bulgaria in Pool B and
Greece taking on Poland in Lodz in Pool C. Both
matches start at 17:00 GMT (19:00 local time).
The Pool B clash is particularly interesting
with France level with Italy with a win and a
loss to their names and both sides eager to get
a jump on the other this weekend while Bulgaria
are desperate to open their account after
failing in their first two attempts against Cuba
in week one.
Pic: France and Italy split their matches in
week one, winning one match each
Poland’s clash with Greece, meanwhile, sees two
unbeaten sides looking to gain the early
ascendancy in the group. Both teams are
struggling with injuries but consecutive wins
for either side will go along way towards
claiming a final round spot, which is awarded to
the pool winner.
The other two matches to be played on Friday
sees Italy host Cuba in Busto Arsizio in Pool B
at 18:30 GMT (20:30 local time) before Argentina
host Serbia and Montenegro in Buenos Aires in
Pool C at 00:00 GMT (21:00 local time).
