2004 World League Calendar

Intercontinental Round - June 4 to July 11, various cities
Twelve teams distributed in three pools of four teams play in a home-away

Round Robin tournament:
Pool A - Brazil, Greece, Spain, Portugal
Pool B - France, Bulgaria, Japan, Poland
Pool C - Italy, China, Serbia and Montenegro, Cuba

Six rounds for each team over six weekends
Three rounds at home - three rounds away
Two matches each weekend (Friday and/or Saturday and/or Sunday) against the same team. Twelve matches for each team. Total of 72 matches for the preliminary phase.

The ranking of the teams per pool will be determined according to the results of all matches won and lost during the Intercontinental Round. The best classified team from each group qualifies for the final round.

Final Round - July 16th to 18th, Rome, Italy
Four teams play in a 3-day Tournament.

The ranking will be determined according to the results of all matches won and lost during the Intercontinental Round.

The organiser of the Final Round will qualify automatically for the Final Round.

Should the organiser be first ranked of its pool, the 2nd ranked team of this pool will take part in the final.
