At 29-years-of-age Chrysanthos Kyriazis is proving to be a very welcome addition to the Greek attacking artillery by being a regular source of points with his powerful scud-like spikes.
He is part of a trio - with Greece's other two main attacking options, captain Marios Gkiourdas and Nikolaos Roumeliotis - which is proving very formidable and potent on attack.
Not huge by any means at 195cm but Kyriazis plays with a big heart and with precision. While teams find it easy to get up to put the block up against him it is his dart-like accuracy, which contributes to Greece's attacking prowess.
He has the experience having played in six World Leagues already but for 2003 his consistency
fitS right into the game plan of Greece coach Stylianos Prosalikas, who is looking for stability in a side, which is
beginning to seriously threaten some of the leading teams around the world.
