FIVB $15million World League -
Two surprise leaders after
Week 4
LAUSANNE,
Switzerland, June 8, 2003 – Bulgaria and
the Czech Republic are two of the big
surprise leaders on top of their
respective Pools following the completion
of Week 4 of the $15million World League
Intercontinental Rounds on Sunday. Both
teams completed clean sweeps over the
weekend, Bulgaria over the Netherlands and
the Czech Republic over Japan, to lead
Pool C and Pool D respectively. An
incredible scenario considering Bulgaria
are making their first World League
appearance in four years and the Czech
Republic are World League debutants.

FIVB $15million World League - Big Guns
shine through
LAUSANNE,
Switzerland, June 7, 2003 – Three of the World
League star teams - Serbia and Montenegro, Italy and
Brazil - all claimed victories in their opening
matches in Week 4 of the $15million World League
Intercontinental Rounds, which were completed on
Saturday. The Olympic and European champions Serbia
and Montenegro relied on a mammoth 30-point haul from
Ivan Miljkovic to come from two-sets-to-one down to
snatch a 3-2 win in a five-set thriller (21-25, 25-21,
17-25, 25-17, 15-11) against Cuba. More

Switzerland, June 6, 2003 - Week 4 of the $15million
World League Intercontinental Rounds started with four
games on Friday in a night of surprises with Russia
surviving a scare before defeating Spain in five sets,
Bulgaria claiming another big-name scalp in the
Netherlands, Venezuela claiming their first 2003 World
League victory while France dismissed Greece in
straight sets to jump back to the top of the Pool D
