RUSSIA IN ITS NEW PATH TO THE FINALS

THE NATIONAL TEAM FROM RUSSIA STRONGLY DEPENDING ON ITS WELL STRUCTURED BLOCKING SYSTEM AND UNPARALLEL ATTACK, DEFEAT VENEZUELAN TEAM 3 SETS 1 IN THE FIRST MATCH COMPRISING THE SECOND WORLD LEAGUE WEEK, FIRST IN VENEZUELA THIS WEEKEND.

AS USUSAL, A LOUD CHEERING CROWD IN CABIMAS SUPPORTED VENEZUELA, BUT THE RUSSIAN EXPERIENCE WEIGHS OVER, AND FINALY ENDED WINNING A GAME AFTER LOOSING THE FIRST SURPRISING SET.

BORISS KOLCINS, HEAD COACH OF THE RUSSIAN TEAMS SAID: THE GAME WAS HARDER THAN WE HAVR FORESEEN, SPECIALLY NOT KNOWING HOW THE OTHER TEAM PLAYS. THE VENEZUELAN TEAM IS VERY VERY YOUNG, BUT THEY SHOW HOW READY THEY ARE TO PLAY ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL.

VADIM KHAMOUTTSKIKH, RUSSIAN CAPTAIN, SAID: IT'S OUR FIRST GAME, AND IT WAS NOT EASY TO BEAT AN UNKNOWN ADVERSARY. I'M REALLY SURPRISED BY THE AMBITIONS OF THIS YOUNG TEAM, AND I'M SURE THAT THEY HAVE A BRILLIANT FUTURE.

MIGUEL CAMBERO, VENEZUELAN COACH, SAID THAT THE RUSSIAN TEAM WORKED HARD ON THE RECEPTON, AND WE DID NOT HANDLE THIS AS WELL AS WE SHOULD. WE PLAYED A GOOD FIRST SET, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE HISTORY BURDENS AND THE RUSSIAN TEAM PLAYED AS WELL AS THEY USUALLY DO. FOR US IS VERY IMPORTANT THIS GAME AGAINST RUSSIA, AS LONG AS IT'S ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

ERNARDO GOMEZ, VENEZUELAN CAPTAIN SAIS THAT THE RUSSIANS HANDLED THE TACTICAL GAME AND THE BLOCKING, AND WE COULD NOT STOP THEM. IT'S UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE BESTS TEAMS IN THE WORLD.
