Portugal notches up second victory over Argentina
Portugal on Sunday scored a 3-2 victory over Argentina to go 2-up in the tie in the third Intercontinental round of the FIVB World League. The young and enthusiastic Portuguese side triumphed 3-2 after starting strongly in the first set with a series of fast attacks and solid play. They were also able to capitalize on Argentina's frequent mistakes in the opening phase.
Argentina went out strongly in the second set, using the power of the inimitable Milinkovic in the attack. The Portuguese could find no answer to the rapid Volleyball played by the Argentineans.
The visitors kept up the pressure in the third set and the nervoud Portugues began to make errors in the face of Milinkovic's deadly accuracy, especially serving.
The home side bounced back in the fourth with some fast attacks and good blocking of their own to run up a significant lead and level at 2-2. Argentina appeared tired in the tiebreaker and Portugal came in strong and hard to wrap up the match, and vault from bottom of the Pool A ladder into second place. .
