By winning against Japan in five sets (22-25, 25-21, 26-28, 25-14, 15-7), on Friday evening in Saint-Brieuc, the French team reinforced its position at the head of the World League D pool.
France lead from the start (8-5) to 15-14. With a winning attack and block, Morishige allowed Japan to reverse the situation (15-16) ; a first set largely dominated (18 pts to 7 for France) by Japanese attacks. Despite a change of French setters (De Kergret for Patin), the second set was the same till 21-21 before the first scoring of four consecutive points finished with an attack of Capet (25-21) for France.
With a nice reaction from 20-23 to 24-23, the French team missed the opportunity in the third set with three set balls before losing on the first Japanese attempt concluded with a winning servi
