Match Descriptive

France beat Yugoslavia 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18) - duration 1:42
29-Jun, start time: 18:00, end time: 19:42 - Attendance: 3,020
Saturday in Dijon, France has won against the Yougoslavia team in four sets (19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18).
The French team won its second victory in the world league on Saturday in Dijon against Yougoslavia (3-1 : 19-25, 25-20, 25-22,25-18).
As for the first meeting the French team mastered the block which led to its victory. < What is to be kept in mind is the collective spirit within the team which wanted to win at any price> the French trainer Philippe Blain explains. <The Yougoslavian team can afford preparing the final phase of the world league by failing in the first phase. The French team has first to think of the qualification and thus, each match is important>.
The changes at the set (Pain for De Kergret) and at the attack ( Marquet for Capet) in the French team at the end of the first set were determining for the match. Yet it is during the third set at 21-22 that the Yougoslavians lost their last chance to win. At 22-22 Kieffer succeeded three winning blocks (25-22) giving France a serious advantage before a last set with no great difficulty (3-3, 8-3, 25-18). On an individual point of view, the best performance was reached by Fantz Granvorka who marked 20 points among which, 5 aces.
< I can't contest the French victory> the Yougoslavian trainer Zora Gajc said at the end of the meeting.< But it is obvious that for the moment the French team is more prepared than the Yougoslavian one>
