Portugal won the first match in this World League.
This first match was very important for the two teams. Both wanted to show the preparation they had before this World League. But Portugal was stronger in the right moments.
Portugal started to play well but a bit ancious so the Poland Team leaded from the begining by one or two points. This went on untill the end off the set and Portugal lost it by 21 / 25.
The second set was also very leveled one. Portugal started better with Roberto Reis very well in the attack and in the service. In the midle of the set Portugal took the advantage with a better reception and good attacks made by Adriano Paço. Against this the Poland Squad could do nothing and lost the set by 19 / 25.
The third one was a bit like the last one with both teams playing exelent volleyball. Poland was more concentrated in the end, facing some Portuguese erros, and won it.
In the begining of fourth set Poland was stronger, with Nowak very good in the attack and in the blocking. Portugal lost some estability and made some errors in the service. But in after the 18 points Portugal again with some very good atacks managed to go on the front of the score and won this set.
In the last set Portugal started very well and continued this way. The reception was fabulous and the attack even better. Portugal won this set by 15 / 11 and the match.
