Russia beat Cuba 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-18) - duration 1:19
28-Jun, start time: 18:00, end time: 19:19 - Attendance: 4,530
Match Russia-Cuba in St.Petersburg. Russian victory 3:0.
It was the first official match for the young Cuban team. 95 per cent of the team participate for the first time in the competitions of such level. Only a setter Alain ROCA and a central spiker Pavel PIMIENTA have an experience of taking part in World League and other big events. Certainly it was very difficult to play against a strong Russian team for a new Cuban team. It was no doubt during any set that Russians won. Only once in this match guests managed to lead in the second set when the score became 21:20 in a favour of Cuba. The best player in the Russian team was Serguei TETIOUKHINE, and in the best Cuban scorer appeared Tomas ALDAZABAL.
