China plus the five best women's teams will vie for the World Grand Prix title in Ningbo, China from June 27 to July 1, 2012. This is the third time in the history that the Chinese city welcomes the event after playing hosts in 2007 and 2010. Taking place a couple of weeks before the London 2012 Olympic Games, the 20th edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Finals promises to be one of the most exciting.
Lying in the east of Zhejiang, Ningbo sits at the mid-point of the
Chinese coastline, towards the south of the Yangtze Delta. It is
surrounded by the Siming and Tiantai Mountains, which adds much charm to
the cityscape.
Ningbo is one China's oldest cities, and has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous dynasties. It also represents the birthplace of Hemudu Culture, which itself has a history of over 7000 years.
Ningbo's rich history left the Chinese port with abundant cultural relics and prestigious temples such as the Asoka temple, which draws tourists from all over China and also abroad.

The especially-for-volleyball-designed Ningbo Beilun Gymnasium has a capacity of 8'000 seats.
It has been hosting FIVB World Grand Prix events since 2005.
