Post match press conference of bronze medal match Serbia vs Russia

Macau, China, August 28, 2011 - Serbia vs Russia press conference

Russia captain Maria Borisenko: “I want to say thank you to my team. We had a very hard and long competition. Although we did not have a good game every time, I still would like to say thank you to my team for their effort.”

Serbia captain Jelena Nikolic: “The conditions were not ideal for us coming into this match today because we had a late match last night, but we were determined to win the bronze medal. I am really proud of my team for the things we achieved, not just in this World Grand Prix but also in this season. This bronze medal is a testimony to our achievement in gaining recognition as one of the top three teams in the world.”

Russia coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin: “All tournaments are important and so are the results. In the beginning of this tournament our aim was to prove and to see how our core players would perform in this competition, and we can see that our players still need a lot of improvement. Although we did not get to the final or come away with the bronze medal, we are still happy for the opportunity to participate in this competition.”

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: “Today I am very happy and very proud of my team. This is the first time Serbia participate in the FIVB World Grand Prix and we won the bronze medal. It is a great success especially we won against a great team like Russia in a major competition. This is the second competition for us this season, we won the European League and now the third place in the World Grand Prix. Next we will have the European Championship which is the most important for us. I hope my team will play at the same level in the European Championship.”
