Russia-China Post-Match Press Conference

Russia's tactics was key as the side sealed a win over China on Sunday

The Chinese Head Coach Yu Jumin, Captain Wei Qiuyue and the Russian Head Coach Kuzyutkin and Captain Borisenko attended the press conference.

Wei Qiuyue said Russia was a very strong team, expecially on the net. Her team failed to seize some opportunities, and should improve in the future. The team showed their skills and tactics in quick attacks, and the two second spikers played well.

Borisenko said her team had done their best. They were happy to win though they were not in their best shape.

Yu Juemin said that though the team lost the game 0-3, the girls used the skills and tactics well. Russia was a very strong team, especially on the net. The Chinese team made some mistakes in the match, which they should work on to avoid from happening in the future. After two-week competition, he had the rough lineup list for the Asian Championships. Some weaknesses of the team were shown from the WGP tournament. They would try to improve and focus on the Asian Championships.

Kuzyutkin said that both teams played well and would be better in the future. Last time, China beat Russia 3-1 in the President’s Cup. But with the return of Gamova this time, Russia was reinforced. But the team would not rely mainly on Gamova. There were other excellent players, such as Goncharova and Makhno.
