Exactly a week earlier the sides met in Bydgoszcz, where Poland also sealed a straight sets win. Argentina started today's match with the same lineup as then, while Poland coach Alojzy Swiderek made two changes (receiver Klaudia Kaczorowska replaced injured Kinga Kasprzak and middle-blocker Berenika Okuniewska replaced Anna Podolec).

The first set was close from the off as both sides committed service errors. Poland first gained a two-point-advantage at 13-11, and the Argentinians made an early double-change. The Poles put up a solid block which intimidated Argentina as they made many mistakes hitting too high or sending the ball outside the court. However, with four unanswered points scored by the guests through Paula Yamila Nizetich services, the Argentinians were the ones leading 19-18. The Poles regained control with Katarzyna Konieczna's ace and stayed ahead till the end as they sealed the score at 25-20 with a spectacular block.

Set two was again very tight but Poland took control before the first TTO and jumped ahead to 8-5. The guests drew closer at 11-10, again thanks to Paula Yamila Nizetich services (two aces), but the Poles regained concentration and jumped ahead once more. Playing very well in block the Poles continued their domination and extended the lead to six points at 18-12, then 22-16. Argentina played hard and tried to level the score, but Poland was unstoppable and they picked up the set 25-20.

The beginning of the third set was much better for the guests as they took the lead at 5-3, but then the hosts scored four points in a row and they were the ones leading 8-6 at the first TTO. However the Argentinians scored a series of points and to move ahead at 11-8. Poland levelled the score at 13-13, but Argentina did not lose concentration and stayed ahead. However Poland managed to tie the score once again at 19-19 before a thrilling ending saw the hosts take the match.

On Saturday Poland will face Korea and Argentina will challenge Cuba.
