I'm very happy with the team's performance. I think the key for the win was the determination of the team to stick together after the disappointment of yesterday and to really show the real volleyball we can play. That was the main reason for the difference today. Besides that, our attack was very efficient for a long time. As I see the numbers, it gives good confidence for the team and our setter. We did not have so many unforced errors compared to yesterday, which is very important against the Dominican Republic. It shows our team was well prepared and concentrated, and this is the reason why today we were able to win in straight sets.

(Re. Japan game tomorrow) At this point, Japan is the favorite. They play very well and they are very organized. For us to be able to compete with Japan, it will not be enough just to play with as few errors as possible. We will have to be very decisive in attack, very well organized in terms of blocking defense and our serving must be tough in order to take the rhythm out of the ability of the Japan attack to play fast.

(Re. setter Laura Dijkema) Obviously I'm her coach, so I really think she is a very good prospect and talent in all aspects of the game. She has a lot of sense about the game. She reads the game very well and mentally is very, very strong, but skill-wise and physically there's still a long way to go. Overall, Laura will be much better and will be one of the future prospects to lead the national team of Holland.

Netherlands captain Manon Flier:

We cannot qualify for the finals any more, so our aim is to be seventh in the standings. Today was a great match for us and it was important for our self-confidence. In many ways, I think we showed improvement compared to yesterday, so I'm proud of how my team changed overnight. We did a great job and I'm proud of that. We'll prepare for the match tomorrow (against Japan) and it could be a great match. I hope so.

There were a lot of errors today, so it is difficult to analyze today's match. We will have to analyze it after watching the video of today's game.
