Germany Coach Giovanni Guidetti: We have to change 360 degrees in order to play well.

Thailand Head Coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai is delighted with his team's victory against Germany at Hong Kong Coliseum today

Germany Coach Giovanni Guidetti: "Congratulations to the Thailand team. They played a very good game. Our team did not understand volleyball. There were 36 unforced errors and 11 reception faults. It doesn’t matter who we play against, we keep on giving the other team points after points after points. They should have learnt a lesson in this tournament and need to change their mentality. They lack courage and concentration. We have to change 360 degrees in order to play well."

Germany Captain Margareta Kozuch: "Congratulations to the Thailand team. Their team did really good. We started good but Thailand had good defences. We made a lot of mistakes, lost concentration. We are sorry for the team. We hope we can start better in the next tournament."

Thailand Coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: "We thank the Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, the Organising Committee and staff for organizing a super tournament, as well as the sponsors. We thank the media for their presentation and reports and the cheering fans. We enjoyed every game because the fans cheered very hard for us. We did not have too much pressure so we played a good game. We could follow our game plan. The players tried their best and displayed good techniques. Germany has very good players as well; it is very hard to get point from them. But our team’s unity and high spirit got us into the game. This victory gave our team a lot of confidence for the coming tournaments. Through this game, we have figured out the strength and weakness of our team. Facing the Asian game, it will be very difficult for our team as there are strong teams like China, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei etc. Our target is to win a medal. The 3 qualities I teach my team that the conditions to become the champion are psychology, physical fitness and techniques."

Thailand Captain Wilavan Apinyapong: "We are very happy about the game today. It was very difficult for our team to get any points. They gave us a lot pressure in serving. We tried to do our best. We played hard together in order to get a point. We hope we can do well in the next tournament and we wish Germany success in their next game."
