Gdynia, Poland, August 7, 2010 - Poland scored their second win of the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-14) win over the Dominican Republic at home in Gdynia on Saturday.
Poland's Agnieszka Bednarek-Kasza was the games MVP as Katarzyna Gajgal topped the scores with 14 points.
Despite the match starting well for the visitors the Poles drew level thanks to Anna Baranska and Agnieszka Bednarek-Kasza's wonderful serves. From their they moved on to pick up the opening set.
The hosts picked up the pace in the second set never letting go of the lead thanks to consistent reception and setting. Katarzyna Gajgal maintained her 100% attack efficiency as the host side built on their advantage and easily took the set.
The beginning of the third set was more even, but the hosts jumped to a three point lead . Despite the fact that the Dominican coach replaced half of the line-up, it did not help their team. Poland was better in every element. It took them just 22 minutes to win the last set (25-14), and the whole match 3-0."
On Sunday, Poland will face the USA, while the Dominican Republic play Germany.
