|
|
Hong Kong, 26th June 2007 – The Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, is proud to announce that Hong Kong Health Check and Laboratory Holdings Company Limited has kindly consented to be the Title Sponsor for the FIVB World Grand Prix - Hong Kong for two consecutive years.
From 10th to 12th August, the event will host China, Dominican Republic, Italy and Poland, as the Group F of the FIVB World Grand Prix 2007. The Hong Kong matches will be part of the qualification system of 9 Pools that will lead to the Final Six in Ningbo from 22nd to 26th August.
Hosting this annual spectacular event and promoting the sport of Volleyball has always been the goals of the Association. The generous support of “Hong Kong Health Check” not only allows to present to the Hong Kong public the 2007 and 2008 FIVB World Grand Prix – Hong Kong under their patronage, but also enables to implement a series of development programmes to promote the sport of Volleyball among the younger members of the community with the hope of raising the standard of Volleyball in Hong Kong.
A series of activities have been planned to publicize and promote this forthcoming sport extravaganza which will be held in the Hong Kong Coliseum. These included special concession tickets for the local schools, “Touching Base with the China Volleyball Team”, Exhibition Match by the China Veteran Volleyball Team, Autograph Session with the China Volleyball Team sponsored by UPS and “HK Health Check” Mini Soft Volleyball Road Show in shopping malls. The Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China has also appointed Ms. Stephy Tang, Movie and TV artist Singer to be its “Ambassador”.
This year’s tournament has been included as one of the events in the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as well as one of the “M” mark events of the Major Sports Events Committee under the Sports Commission of the HKSAR. The Volleyball Association of Hong Kong would like to take this opportunity to express its sincere thanks and appreciation for the continuous support of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department as well as the commercial sector of the community for their sponsorship. Last but not least, the Association would also like to thank its friends from the media for their support in assisting to publicize this event every year, especially TVB, the local host broadcaster again for this edition of the FIVB World Grand Prix. |
