FIVB World Grand Prix 2006
Press Conference
Russia beat Japan 3-0

Team captain Natalia Safronova spikes Russia ahead
Japan's team captain Yoshie Takeshita: "Our formation wasn't too bad today, but we had problems with the height of the Russian players and made too many unforced errors."

Japan's head coach Shoichi Yanagimoto: "You need good combination play to win matches at this level and today our combinations were not so good."

Russia's team captain Natalia Safronova: "It was a varied game. We were ahead and then Japan came back, but in the end we won, which is the most important thing."

Russia's head coach Giovanni Caprara: "The most important thing is that we won. Our attack wasn't as good as it could have been, but now we can relax and look ahead to the semi-finals. I made some substitutions in the third set because I thought the team wasn't playing well, but these were merely tactical changes."
