FIVB World Grand Prix 2006
Match Description
China beats Thailand 3-0

China beats Thailand 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-22)

China hammered Thailand with three straight sets

In the first set, China immediately took the control of the game at the very beginning. Thailand has become more mature and more experienced as compared to two years ago when they first participated in the World Grand Prix. Facing the Olympics champion team, they did not allow the China team to widen the gap before the second technical timeout. Though there were several unprompted mistakes made by the China team, they still gained the set by leading 5 points.

Despite losing the previous set, the Thai girls did not lose their focus in the second set. Yet, the Chinese players were able to get a better grasp of the rhythm of the game. With aggressive attacks and concrete defence, China clinched the set with 25-19 in just 20 minutes.

Confident smiles on the faces of the Chinese players went along with their impressive unity. Whereas, Thailand maintained their greatest concentration. Both teams did not take any supremacy and points went up tightly until the second technical timeout. China shone to the brightest towards the end of the third set and they deserved to win with three straight sets.
