Dominican Republic and
China sign cooperation agreement
Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic, March 19, 2005 - The
Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation and the Sports
Administration of the Tainjin Province of China, signed
a cooperation agreement on Friday.
President of the Women’s Development Program of the
Dominican Republic Federation Mr. Cristobal Marte and
Mr. Xie Delong, Vice President of the China Volleyball
Association and President of the Tainjin Sports
Administration, signed the document along with Mr. Cai
Weiquan, a representative of the Commercial Office of
the People’s Republic of China in the Dominican Republic
and Mr. Antonio Acosta, Secretary of the Dominican
Republic Olympic Committee.

Through this agreement of assistance and sport exchange,
the women’s team from Tainjin is currently training in
Santo Domingo in a one-month period, and the Dominican
Republic national team will establish a training camp in
Tainjin from May 4 to June 4 with the participation of
teams from Cuba, Japan, Poland, Bulgaria, Dominican
Republic and China in preparation for the Women’s World
Grand Prix to be played in the Chinese cities of Ningbo
and Dalian.
Additionally, the Tainjin Sports Administration will
provide technical assistance - via international
instructors - to the staff of coaches of the Dominican
Republic Program and all the aid needed with an eye on
the participation of the Dominican Republic in the 2008
Olympic Games to be held in Beijing, China in 2008.
