Cuba and the
Netherlands win in style
Manila, Philippines, July 1, 2005 – Olympic
bronze medallists Cuba were in sensational form as they kept their
unbeaten record with a convincing straight sets win over Thailand
25-19, 25-17, 25-17 in the opening match of the Manila Leg of the
second round of the 2005 World Grand Prix Preliminary Round.
The
second match saw the Netherlands continue their excellent start to
the competition with an incredible 25-18, 25-16, 25-21 win over last
year's silver medallists and world champions Italy for their third
win in four matches.
