Dominican Republic and China will play 23 training matches

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, March 11, 2005 - The national women’s teams of the Dominican Republic and the People´s Republic of China will play a total of 23 matches in preparation for an exhilarating Volleyball season ahead.
The details of the exchange were given by Mr. Ramon Alexis Garcia, President of the Dominican Volleyball Federation, and Mr. Cristobal Marte, President of the National Women´s Program, during a press conference on Wednesday. Both Garcia and Marte were in the company of Mr. Ramon Cuello, President of the Dominican Sports Writers Association.

The Chinese delegation from the Tainjin Province will arrive on Saturday and will have closed door training sessions during the weekend.

The matches between the two teams will begin on Monday at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo.

Garcia remarked that the importance of the exchange will benefit the development of Volleyball in the Dominican Republic immensely. Marte said these matches are part of the preparation of the Dominican Republic Team for all the competitions of the year that include the Pan American Cup in Santo Domingo, the World Grand Prix in Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong and the 2006 World Championships.
